Gratitude Project 365

Today I took a few moments before heading to the studio and cleaned out my closet.  Yes, it has been long overdue and the husband has been on me about it.  Funny thing is it took me a whole 20 minutes but we won't tell him that. (hehe)  As I reached the bottom of my unorganized chaos, I discovered a small bag that contained items that I was not quite familiar with.  When I pulled out the items, my heart sank.  My Grandma (Nanny) passed a few years ago and I collected a few of her items and since then have not really had the nerve to go through them.  Well, she must have felt it was the right time.  I found a postcard written in love by my grandfather (at the time he was in the service) to my Nanny and a "real" pearl necklace that I am going to assume were given to her.  Along with these were negatives...  as a photographer you know that I immediately turned on the lights so I could check them out.  WOW!  An image of my Papa and Nanny when they first met...he was in his military uniform with his arms wrapped around her and they were kissing!!  Tears of joy :-)  I wanted to share this with you as part of my project. And reminds me how important my job is for not only my family but other families....what a treasure to find!  This made me feel so thankful for this moment that Nanny just gave me.  I have felt her all around me today.  Thank you Nanny, I love you and I miss you.
