Village School Portrait Experience!
In the last few weeks I have had the opportunity to visit three villages here in Alaska. For the first time flying on a bush plane... I absolutely loved it! As a North Pole Family photographer...it was well worth every minute to get out there and meet some great families! The first night I arrived I set up to shoot for families..which was a great success! I brought my sleeping bag, camped out in the school library, woke up the next morning and prepared myself for some sweet little cheeks! We started with kindergarten and worked our way through to the Seniors. One of the sweetest ladies I met, Georgianna, the school office secretary and bus driver (yep...she does it all)...helped me along the way amongst many others who were happy to see me.
I also was honored to attend a funeral service the night before to help celebrate a lost life of a father to an amazing family. The love and community that I felt being there was intense. This family has all the support they will need for sure..what a great feeling! I continue to pray for strength and guidance for them.
So, thank you to all who helped me along the way... I am looking forward to doing it all over again next year!
I visited Fort Yukon, Venetie, and Tanana villages.... all in three weeks time.
Soon all the prints will be on their way and looking forward to creating more art with those smiles!
