2015 Started out with a BANG!
This year started out to be a huge new beginning for me! I was able to share this moment with some old and new friends. We headed to Imaging USA in Nashville, TN to learn and get inspired with photography! Since living in North Pole, Alaska and growing a successful business, at times it becomes difficult to be far away from friends and family in the lower 48. This is one way we come together and share what we love to do! This shot was taken at the "infamous" bar called Coyote Ugly...yep, we did it! There were so many beautiful sights, seminars, and experiences that we gained during our stay. I look forward to implementing the many new fresh and exciting ideas that I learned.
I am always gearing up for my next journey in this business! My clients right here in Fairbanks and North Pole Alaska have shown me a path that I must lead! Thank you so much...I am so grateful :-)

An Alaskan Family Photographer
Recently I have been thinking about some of the titles that accompany my work; an Alaskan wedding photographer, North Pole family photographer, Alaskan family photographer. I'm grateful for the journey that has brought me to this point with Thomas Portrait studio. I feel like my dreams of building my own studio here in Alaska have become reality, and I can fill these titles in confidence.
I have also been thinking about the family that helped me to start it all, and who have been there throughout my journey to this point. I want to give a big shout out to the Nalikak's! They were my very first family to be photographed here in Alaska back in 2010. It has been such a wonderful experience since then to watch their family grow and bond with ours. The Nalikak's are not only my first clients, but are dear friends, and have been there since very beginning to encourage and inspire Thomas Photography.

Senior Portraits!
Booking for senior portraits starts soon at Thomas Portrait Studio! Sessions can be booked between March and September 2014.
Senior year is a time to both reflect on achievements and growth as well as look towards the future and the opportunities that await. It is so fun to work with seniors to show off their achievements, talents or sports achievements in a photograph that will be a reminder of an important time in their lives. I especially enjoy being a part of a high school tradition like senior portraits because it gives me the chance to create a "permanent record" of the high school experience through photographs.
In order to have the best possible experience, and portraits, it can be important to plan ahead. In most schools the deadline to submit senior portraits is around October, so booking at the end of junior year can be a great way to start senior year off right!
The best way to get started and prepare for senior portraits is to book a consultation, right around the end of junior year, but still 3-4 weeks before a portrait session. That way we can discuss outfits as well as hobbies or sports equipment to include ahead of time and be fully prepared when it comes time for the actual photo session. Once it's time for your portrait session come prepared to be photographed, and ready for a personalized session to celebrate and remember your senior year!
Look for more information about senior portraits in the two posts just below this one! Please remember to call to book a consultation before your photo session!
Before I finish up here I wanted to include another addition to my Gratitude 365 Project! Today I feel so grateful for my girls. Especially now that my oldest is off in college I am grateful every time I look back at her senior portraits. I am happy to have the memory of this time in her life preserved in a photograph, while she has been able continue on and grow into such a wonderful young adult.
